The appointed Referee has the power to decide the fitness of the ground in all matches. Unless the ground of a Local Authority is called off by a representative of that body. The home team must consult the referee in all cases.
Chairman - Next Season - Urgent Notice to Clubs
.
1. Registration of clubs

Could all club secretaries please ensure that their club registration form is completed for next season. The form can be downloaded from the league website. The registration forms (if not already submitted) should be brought to the League AGM meeting next Tuesday, 23 June. The club registration forms should indicate which age group teams are intended to be entered next season.
If the registration forms cannot be delivered to the AGM meeting, could club secretaries please post them to Eric Gilson, 18 Elm Tree Drive, Wingerworth, S42 6QD as a matter of urgency.
We will also be requiring the separate team registration forms completed and submitted by no later than 1st August.

2. League secretary

Neil Howard has resigned as the League Secretary and the Management Committee will be proposing to the AGM that Eric Gilson be appointed as the League Secretary for next season. Could all clubs & teams please send any correspondence/forms etc to Eric from now on.

3. Nine a side for under 11s

The position on running a nine a side competion for the U11s, alongside a 11 a side competition, is very much supported by the Management Committee. We will be updating clubs/teams on the situation at the AGM. There may be some misunderstandings circulating about the 9 a side competition and I would simply ask that those who are interested in a 9 a side competition stick with it – if the League can help teams interested we will.

Chairman - Next Season
.
Having only recently completed the 2008/09 season, it is time that we have to turn our thoughts to preparing for the next season. I am writing to draw your attention to a number of points;-

1. Annual General Meeting
The League’s AGM will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 23rd June in the Council Chamber at Derbyshire County Council’s County Offices, Matlock. The agenda and supporting papers is being e-mailed to all clubs and a copy is available on the league website under the heading 'Meetings' in the 'Dates' menu item.
Each club is entitled to one vote on the business to be agreed at the AGM.
If any club wishes to make any proposal to be considered at the AGM eg rule changes etc this must be forwarded to me by no later than Tuesday 16th June and I will ensure this is raised at the meeting.

2. New clubs
Any new club wishing to join the League must submit a club registration application. form (details are available on the website), or may contact me for details.

3. Confirmation of teams.
In order that the Management Committee can resolve the composition of teams into divisions for the various age groups for next season, we will need to have completed team registration forms submitted by no later than 1st August. It is essential that we know which teams are entered for next season so that decisions on promotion, relegation and size of divisions can be made and enable us to publish the divisions at the August General League meeting.

4. Nine a side for under 11s
As agreed at the March General League meeting, we will be offering under 11 age group teams to play in either an 11 a side competition, or a nine a side competition. I have been advised that the FA rules require that the goal size for 9 a side football is 16 feet by 7 feet. The proposal and competition rules for nine a side will be confirmed at the AGM.
I would note that the nine a side competition will include a knock out cup competition in addition to the normal divisional league competition.
It would be extremely helpful if clubs interested in entering nine a side teams in the under 11 age group could e-mail me before 22 June so that we can be clear if we have sufficient teams to make this viable.

Thanks to Simonette/Neil for sending the directory details forms through to you all.

The form can be downloaded from the website here.I would be grateful if you would complete this and forward a copy to Eric Gilson and myself as soon as you can as this will help me to get the fixtures organised for next season.

I am grateful to you all for the help you have given me to complete the season this year and I am looking forward to a successful season next year.
