The appointed Referee has the power to decide the fitness of the ground in all matches. Unless the ground of a Local Authority is called off by a representative of that body. The home team must consult the referee in all cases.

League Meeting Tuesday 24 November

All club secretaries are reminded that an RDYFL League meeting is to be held on Tuesday 24th November 2009 commencing at 7.30pm and will be held in the Council Chamber of the Council Offices, Derbyshire County Council, Matlock.
All clubs are required to be represented at the meeting and failure to be represented will result in a fine.
An agenda for the business to be conducted can be downloaded Here.

Notice of cancelled fixtures

All managers for U10s to U18s teams are reminded that when a fixture is cancelled due to an unfit pitch they must notify the Results Secretary (Rob Marsh) - so that he knows a result is not outstanding; and the Fixtures Secretary (Clive Pickles). Numerous teams are failing to do this. Teams cancelling a match must give notice of any postponement without delay and the reason. The home team must also notify the opposition and match officials without delay. Clubs failing to comply with these requirements will be liable to a charge and action taken against them.
In the event of a match not being played it is to be played on a date mutually agreed by the teams and this must be notified to, and agreed with, the Fixtures Secretary. If a date is not agreed the Fixtures Secretary will determine the fixture date. (The League’s rules 10.8.6; 10.8.7 cover the requirements).
Teams requesting a postponement for reasons other than unfit pitches must submit the request to the Fixtures Secretary and give 28 days advance notice.
Managers are also reminded that shortage of a full team is not a reason to cancel a match. For 11-a-side matches, fixtures must proceed with 8 available players. Where 7 or fewer players are available teams must substantiate the reasons in writing (or e-mail) to the Fixtures Secretary. If teams fail to supply satisfactory supporting reasons they are liable to be charged with failing to fulfil a fixture.

Chairman, RDYFL

Due to few games being organised I have taken the opportunity to allocate the excess referees as assistant referees for u18 and u16 cup games. assistant referees are paid £10.

The home team must pay the referee and one assistant referee. the away team should pay for the other assistant referee. the league will reimburse £5 for each assistant to each club.

Referees secretary.

Teams at home must contact their Referee on the Monday evening at the latest, prior to the match on sunday, otherwise the Referee may think the match is not taking place and accept a fixture in a different League. It could prove very difficult to get a replacement official. Teams must also contact their opponents. Fines can be imposed on teams who do not provide an acceptable explanation for failing to do so.
